MOT Facility

As well as offering habitation and mechanical servicing Edwards also undertake MOT’s and body repairs on Class 4 and Class 7 vehicles. All motorhomes require an MOT every year after the third year. Please call Edwards Servicing Department on 01905 828820 for more information.

Warranties and Repairs

As well as regular servicing it is important to maintain manufacturer warranties. Habitation services must be carried out annually, failure to do so will invalidate your vehicle’s habitation warranty, which on a new UK built motorhome is typically 3 years and up to 10 years for water ingress.

A mechanical warranty on a UK built motorhome is typically 3 years.

Edwards undertake warranty work on Auto Trail, Roller Team, Tribute, Hobby, Malibu and Carthago vehicles with repairs being carried out on all makes and models of motorhomes.

Wheel Alignment

We have invested in the most powerful wheel alignment equipment on the market – the Hunter Hawkeye Elite. It uses four precision cameras to measure the position and orientation of targets mounted to each wheel using Hunter’s patented QuickGrip adaptors. The Hawkeye Elite wheel alignment system can show alignment results in just 70 seconds.

When your vehicle has its alignment checked you will be presented with two printouts. The first printout is the check of the vehicle BEFORE any adjustments have been made, with the red marks indicating the wheel alignment is out. The second printout shows the alignment readings AFTER the adjustments have been made, the green denoting the alignment is now OK.

If your tyres are wearing, your motorhome is pulling or you have a crooked steering wheel, your motorhome is probably suffering from misalignment and needs to have the wheel alignment checked.

Wheel Balancing

If you are experiencing excessive vibration through the steering wheel or at speed it is normally an indication that your vehicle’s wheel balancing needs checking.

Edwards Motors has invested in the world’s fastest diagnostic balancer – the Hunter Road Force Elite. The machine performs a balance faster than a traditional balancer and can solve wheel vibration problems that traditional balancers cannot.

It is advisable to have the wheel balancing checked every time you change the tyres on your vehicle or every 10,000 miles or once a year. If you are feeling excessive vibration through the steering wheel or at speed your car’s wheel balancing should be checked.

Air Conditioning

Manufacturers recommend that your air conditioning is recharged every 2 years. Vehicle air conditioners that are not recharged regularly will be less effective and have to work harder to produce cool air. This puts more strain on the engine and uses more fuel.

If your blowers are giving out warm air or emitting unpleasant smells, it is usually an indication that your air conditioning requires recharging.

Shock Absorber Testing

When was the last time you had the shock absorbers checked on your vehicle? Shock absorbers are very important safety elements that need to be checked and maintained. They are not that easy to check for visible signs of wear and tear as they are located underneath a motorhomes wheel arches. But they are what keep your motorhome’s tyres gripping the road. Plus they help your vehicle when braking and cornering.
